#63. Patkus, Grumbkow and Magaziner – ‘Dorathy Hope’ (2016)

Menacing minimalism. Should’ve posted this on a Monday….


Longtime readers of this blog (all three of you, ha) might be aware of my affinity for the prolific work of Philadelphia’s Mike Patkus. Minimalist ambient post-rock is probably how I’d describe it, I guess, but there’s much more to it than just that. He’s not really one to be pigeonholed and this menacing, slow-burn acoustic piece, collaborative effort from the recently-released album The Pier Glass, shows exactly why.

This dude’s gonna soundtrack my (very) imaginary five-hour adaptation of Blood Meridian….
