Let it happen more please. This is pretty good but it might disappoint your rock n’ roll types a little bit. And anyway, if you listened to anything on Lonerism besides ‘Elephant’ then you already knew that Mr. Parker was more interested in laid-back dance-y grooves than teenage jam band fantasies.
Lonerism was always going to be hard to follow up, even before the Grammy nomination and all the Pitchfork love, et cetera, but as far as follow-ups to universally-acclaimed records go, this is a decent if slightly safe preview of Tame’s next LP. Let’s assume Kevin Parker is saving the best for the album itself.
